Reverse Text
Reverse text, words or lines
What is Reverse Text?
Reverse Text is a free online text tool from Farvixo that lets you reverse text, words or lines. It updates as you type and runs entirely in your browser, so the text is never transmitted. There is no length limit imposed by a server, no account and no cost — use it as often as you need.
How to use Reverse Text
Paste or type into Reverse Text. Nothing is sent anywhere — the text stays in your browser.
Pick the options you want. Reverse Text updates the output as you type, so you can see the effect immediately.
Take the result to your clipboard or save it as a file. Unlimited use, no account needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the three modes?
Character mode turns "hello world" into "dlrow olleh". Word mode reorders the words but keeps them readable: "world hello". Line mode flips the order of lines, which is genuinely useful for reversing a chronological list.
What is this actually used for?
Reversing a list into the opposite order is the practical one — a log, a timeline, a ranking. Character reversal is mostly for puzzles, palindrome checking, and creating novelty text.
Why does reversed text with emoji look broken?
Emoji and some accented characters are made of several code units, and reversing character by character splits them apart. There is no way around it when reversing literally — word or line mode avoids the problem entirely.
Is the reversed text upside down?
No — the characters are in reverse order but still the right way up. Genuinely mirrored or upside-down text needs special Unicode characters, which is a different thing.
Does it handle non-English scripts?
Word and line modes work correctly with any script. Character-level reversal of right-to-left scripts such as Arabic produces unpredictable results, because direction is already handled by the text itself.

Tips for better results
- Text pasted from Word or a PDF often carries invisible characters; clean it before counting or comparing.
- Character counts differ between platforms — some count emoji as one character, others as two.
- The result updates live, so you can adjust the input and watch the output rather than re-running the tool.
Common problems and how to fix them
The count does not match another tool
Tools differ on whether line breaks, trailing spaces and emoji count. Check which rule the platform you are targeting applies.
Formatting was lost on paste
This is a plain-text tool by design. Apply formatting after transforming the text in your editor.
Strange symbols appear in the output
The source contained smart quotes, non-breaking spaces or zero-width characters. Strip them first, then re-run.
