Audio Tools (8)
Convert, compress, cut and clean up audio files.
What are audio tools?
Audio tools convert, compress, cut and clean up sound files entirely in your browser. Interviews, voice notes, podcasts and music are decoded and re-encoded on your own device, so recordings are never uploaded, and the output carries no watermark or audible tag.
Why use Farvixo's audio tools?
- Compress to a target size with presets for WhatsApp, Gmail and Discord limits
- Convert between MP3, AAC, Opus, OGG Vorbis, FLAC and WAV
- Cut, trim and join tracks, with a queue for batch jobs and a ZIP download
- Loudness normalisation to EBU R128, so volume is consistent across a whole file
- Stereo-to-mono downmixing halves the size of speech recordings with no perceptible loss
Frequently Asked Questions
What bitrate should I use?
For spoken word, 64–96 kbps is effectively transparent, and mono halves that again. Music generally needs 128 kbps or more in stereo. Going higher than the source bitrate never recovers quality — it only makes the file bigger.
Does converting audio reduce quality?
Converting between lossy formats always loses a little, because the file is decoded and re-encoded. Always start from the highest-quality original you have. Converting to WAV or FLAC loses nothing further but cannot restore what an earlier compression already removed.
Why is my exported audio quieter or louder than expected?
Source recordings vary widely in level. Enable loudness normalisation, which levels the whole file to a single EBU R128 target rather than leaving peaks and quiet passages as they were.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
For almost every tool, no. Processing runs inside your browser using WebAssembly, so the file never leaves your device. The exception is the AI tools, which must send your text to a language model to get an answer back — those tool pages say so explicitly rather than claiming privacy they cannot offer.
Is there a catch — are these really free?
They are free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no usage cap. Because the work happens on your device rather than our servers, the tools cost us almost nothing to offer. The site is supported by advertising, which is kept out of the tool workspace itself.
