How does it remove a watermark without ruining the photo?
It uses two different repairs. A see-through watermark is an even tint over the picture, so it is undone by re-normalising that area against the pixels around it — the detail underneath is recovered rather than replaced. A solid logo has no detail left to recover, so those pixels are rebuilt from surrounding structure and texture instead.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Every step — detection, removal and export — runs inside your browser. Your images never leave your device, so there is nothing to delete afterwards.
Can it remove a date stamp or timestamp?
Yes. Camera timestamps are thin, high-contrast strokes in a corner, which is exactly what the detector is tuned for. They are usually found automatically.
Can it remove a large logo across the middle of a photo?
It can, but a big opaque logo covers detail that no longer exists in the file, so that area is reconstructed from its surroundings. Expect excellent results over sky, water, walls and grass, and softer results over faces or fine text.
Does it work on several images at once?
Yes. Add a batch and, if they share the same watermark, tick the batch option — agreement across images pins the watermark down far more precisely than any single photo can.

Raise the detection strength, or simply brush over the mark yourself — a hand-painted selection is removed exactly the same way as a detected one.
Is it legal to remove a watermark?
Remove watermarks only from images you own or are licensed to edit. A watermark usually marks a copyright claim, and stripping one from someone else’s work does not give you the right to use it.

Tips for better results
- Re-encoding drops the original EXIF metadata, including GPS coordinates — useful for privacy, but keep an original if you need that data.
- Never upscale a raster image to hit a size requirement; it invents detail and produces a larger file that looks worse.
- When a form specifies both pixel dimensions and a KB limit, set the dimensions first, then lower quality until the size fits.
Common problems and how to fix them
Transparency turned black after converting to JPG
JPEG cannot store an alpha channel. Pick a background colour before converting, or export to PNG or WebP instead.
The output is larger than the original
You converted an already-compressed file to a lossless format such as PNG. Choose WebP or AVIF, or keep the original format and lower the quality.
The result looks soft or blocky
Quality is set too low for the amount of detail. Raise it in steps of five and compare — most photos hold up until roughly 70.
