Frequently Asked Questions
Is a signature added here legally valid?
In most countries an electronic signature is legally recognised for ordinary agreements, and this produces one. It is not a cryptographic digital signature with a certificate authority behind it — some regulated contexts require that. Check what your specific document demands.
Can anyone remove my signature afterwards?
A placed signature is an annotation and can be edited by someone determined enough. Run Flatten PDF afterwards to merge it permanently into the page, then Protect PDF if you also want to stop the file being modified.
How do I get a clean signature image?
Draw it directly with a finger or stylus, which gives the cleanest result. If you photograph a signature on paper, use black ink on plain white under even light — a shadow across the paper is what produces the grey box people complain about.
Is my signed contract uploaded?
No. Both the document and the signature stay in your browser. A tool that uploaded your signed contract would hold your signature and your agreement together on someone else's server.
Can I sign several documents at once?
Save your signature once and reuse it across documents in the same session. Each document is still placed individually, because the position that suits one contract rarely suits another.

Tips for better results
- Check the page count and orientation in the preview before you download — reordering afterwards means starting over.
- If a PDF refuses to open, it is usually password-protected; remove the password first, then re-run this tool.
- Very large PDFs are limited by your device memory, not by an upload cap. Splitting a 500-page file into parts is faster than processing it whole.
Common problems and how to fix them
The PDF will not load
The file is encrypted or was produced by a non-standard writer. Open it in a PDF reader, print it back to PDF, and try again.
Text comes out garbled or as boxes
The PDF has no embedded font or no text layer at all. A scanned page needs OCR first — use PDF OCR, then re-run this tool.
The browser tab becomes unresponsive
The document is larger than the available memory. Close other tabs, or split the PDF and process it in sections.
