## What is Image Resizer?

Image Resizer is a free online image tool from Farvixo that lets you resize images to exact dimensions. The image is decoded, processed and saved inside your browser, so it never leaves your device. Output carries no watermark, keeps full resolution, and you can process as many images as you like without an account.

## Specifications

| Property | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Tool | Image Resizer — Image Tools |
| Purpose | Resize images to exact dimensions |
| Input | A single file (JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP) |
| Output | Image file in the format you select, at full resolution |
| Processing | In your browser — files are never uploaded to a server |
| Price | Free, unlimited, no account required |
| Limitations | Bounded by your device's memory and CPU rather than a server quota; very large files may be slow on older hardware |

## How to use Image Resizer

1. **Add your image** — Drop your image into Image Resizer or click to browse. JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF are all accepted, and nothing leaves your device.
2. **Adjust quality and size** — Choose dimensions, format and quality. Image Resizer previews the output next to the original so you can judge the trade-off before saving.
3. **Download the result** — Save the processed image at full resolution. No watermark is added and there is no daily cap — use Image Resizer as much as you like.

## Use cases

- Shrinking photos to meet an upload limit on a form, marketplace or job portal
- Web developers preparing assets in modern formats for faster page loads
- Social media managers producing correctly sized images per platform
- Anyone who wants EXIF and GPS data stripped before sharing a photo

## Tips

- Re-encoding drops the original EXIF metadata, including GPS coordinates — useful for privacy, but keep an original if you need that data.
- Never upscale a raster image to hit a size requirement; it invents detail and produces a larger file that looks worse.
- When a form specifies both pixel dimensions and a KB limit, set the dimensions first, then lower quality until the size fits.

## Common problems

- **Transparency turned black after converting to JPG** — JPEG cannot store an alpha channel. Pick a background colour before converting, or export to PNG or WebP instead.
- **The output is larger than the original** — You converted an already-compressed file to a lossless format such as PNG. Choose WebP or AVIF, or keep the original format and lower the quality.
- **The result looks soft or blocky** — Quality is set too low for the amount of detail. Raise it in steps of five and compare — most photos hold up until roughly 70.

## FAQ

### How do I resize an image to an exact KB size?

Set the pixel dimensions the form requires first, then lower the quality until the file lands inside the KB range. Dimensions do far more for file size than quality does, so attacking quality alone usually means degrading the image much further than necessary.

### Will resizing make my image blurry?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp — you are discarding pixels the display was not going to show anyway. Making it larger always softens it, because enlarging invents detail that was never captured. The tool will not upscale for this reason.

### Does it keep the aspect ratio?

Yes by default, so the image cannot be stretched. You can unlock it when a form demands exact dimensions that do not match your source ratio, but cropping usually looks better than distorting.

### Can I resize several images at once?

Yes. Add a batch, set the dimensions once, and every image is processed to the same specification. Download them individually or as a ZIP.

### Which formats can I resize?

JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF and BMP. You can also change format while resizing — useful when a form accepts only JPG but your photo is a PNG.

### Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. The image is decoded, resized and saved entirely in your browser. As a side effect, re-encoding also strips EXIF metadata including GPS coordinates, so location data does not travel with a photo you share.
