### Why is my in-hand salary so much lower than my CTC?

CTC is everything the employer spends on you, including amounts you never receive as cash — their provident fund contribution, gratuity, insurance premiums. Subtract those plus your own PF and tax, and in-hand is commonly 25–35% below CTC.

### What is included in CTC that I never see?

Employer PF contribution, gratuity accrual, medical and life insurance premiums, and sometimes a notional value for perks. They are real costs to the employer and real benefits to you, but they do not appear in your bank account each month.

### How accurate is the tax figure?

It is an estimate from the slabs and standard deductions. Your actual liability depends on declared investments, house rent allowance, home loan interest and which tax regime you choose — all of which can move the number substantially.
