## What is AI Noise Remover?

AI Noise Remover is a free online audio tool from Farvixo that lets you clean background noise from audio. Decoding and encoding both happen in your browser through WebAssembly, so recordings, interviews and voice notes never reach a server. Free and unlimited, with no watermark or audible tag added to the output.

## How to use AI Noise Remover

1. **Load your audio** — Add an audio file to AI Noise Remover. Processing runs locally in your browser, so your recordings are never uploaded.
2. **Choose output settings** — Pick the format, bitrate and sample rate you need, or use a preset tuned for music, podcasts or voice notes.
3. **Export the track** — Convert and download the finished file. Quality is yours to control and nothing is added to the output.

## Use cases

- Fitting a podcast episode or voice note under a messaging or email size limit
- Converting a recording to the format a player, DAW or upload form requires
- Journalists and researchers handling interview audio that must stay private
- Preparing audio for a video edit at a consistent bitrate and sample rate

## Tips

- Speech is fine in mono — downmixing halves the file size with no perceptible loss on voice content.
- For spoken word, 64–96 kbps is transparent; music generally needs 128 kbps or more.
- Every lossy re-encode loses information. Always start from the highest-quality original you have, not from a file you already compressed.

## Common problems

- **The file will not load** — The container is fine but the codec is unusual, or the file is partially downloaded. Re-download the original and try again.
- **The output sounds thin or watery** — The bitrate is too low for the material. Raise it a step, and keep stereo if the source is music rather than speech.
- **Volume is inconsistent across the file** — Enable loudness normalisation, which levels the track to a single EBU R128 target instead of leaving the peaks and quiet passages as they were.

## FAQ

### What kinds of noise can be removed?

Steady, continuous noise comes out best — air conditioning, traffic hum, tape hiss, computer fans. Sudden sounds like a door slam or a cough are much harder, because they overlap the speech rather than sitting behind it.

### Why does the voice sound watery after processing?

That is over-processing. Noise removal always takes some of the voice with the noise, and pushing the strength up trades a clean background for an unnatural voice. Use the least reduction that makes the recording usable.

### Can it rescue a recording made in a very noisy room?

Partially. If the noise is louder than the speech there is simply not enough clean signal to recover, and no tool changes that. A better microphone position at recording time beats any amount of cleanup afterwards.

### Is my audio uploaded?

No. The model runs in your browser, so interviews and private recordings stay on your device.

### Should I remove noise before or after other edits?

Before. Noise reduction works best on the raw recording — running it after compression or normalisation means those steps have already amplified the noise you are trying to remove.
